Amongst the Best

Congratulations to Rebecca Thomas and Lisa Sapio who took out the PIA South Australia’s “Woman in Planning Awards” for 2022 – very worthy winners.

We were thrilled to see our Associate Directors Anna Deller-Coombs and Anita Allen amongst the outstanding field of nominations.  It seemed like trying to win a Grand Slam tournament with so many skilled entrants.

We also really enjoyed the keynote speech from Georgia Heath of Yup Yup Labs.  Wonderful thoughts about the triumphs and tribulations of Elizabeth in northern Adelaide, the influence of indigenous culture in her family life and the important role of women, particularly in leadership.

URPS has always had more women than men.  These women, including Director Nicole Halsey, have shaped our culture of inclusiveness.  Our emerging female leaders continue to help fashion the way we go about things.

To the award winners in Rebecca and Lisa – you are terrific planning professionals.

To Anna and Anita – even Serena Williams gets beaten by great opponents from time to time.  You remain amongst the best.
