More Mushrooms for Monarto

Ariel view of factory in Monarto surrounded by farm and dirt

Construction is currently well underway for the expansion of the Costa Group’s mushroom farm at Monarto South.  Already the most advanced mushroom facility in Australia, the expansion will see further operational improvements that will allow Costa to double production.

Costa, together with URPS, worked closely with the Environment Protection Authority and Murray Bridge Council to ensure that the site continues to perform to the highest environmental standards.

The facility captures and reuses all stormwater and the new solar farm will generate a substantial amount of electricity solely for use on site.

The development represents an investment in excess of $60 million and will create 200 new jobs in the Murraylands Region.
