Kicking Things Off at Hindmarsh

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ is the biggest women’s sporting event in the world and Adelaide is hosting five matches at Coopers Stadium – this is great news for sports fans and football in SA….. it will be the hottest ticket in town” (Michael Carter CEO Football South Australia).

The State Government is investing $53m to upgrade Cooper’s Stadium which is already underway.

The City of Charles Sturt is making significant public realm upgrades in Holden Street near the Stadium.

Our client, Otello, is also investing in the Hindmarsh precinct with a multi-million dollar, 4 level, mixed-use building comprising commercial floorspace and apartments.  The hotel rooms will be popular with the many tourists that will descend on the precinct during the World Cup.

The lofty ambitions for the World Cup at Hindmarsh are matched by Otello’s development.  The fact that the building is taller than the quantitative height guideline was accepted by the Council because:

  • It is well below the height of Cooper’s Stadium directly adjacent.
  • The design is very high quality and visually appealing.
  • There are no negative residential impacts.

Exciting times for Otello, for Hindmarsh and for Adelaide.
