Lucas Paterno has more than 17 years of experience in the built environment industry providing statutory planning and urban design services in the private and public sectors.

He understands that good urban planning leads to good urban design that carefully responds to both its physical and regulatory context. He is driven by these fundamental principles; and is committed to conceptualising, guiding and delivering projects of high quality.

Lucas brings excellent capabilities in handling complex projects, delivering no‐nonsense, client focussed, smart and streamlined planning approvals. His expertise and proactive approach streamlines the application process. Lucas’ strongest assets include designing with foresight to capture opportunity that is often overlooked, as well as management and integration of design interfaces to achieve required outcomes for each stakeholder within time and budget limitations.

Following on from his experience as an architectural draftsman and urban designer, Lucas was overseeing development approvals on behalf of the Responsible Authority in the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area (FBURA); Australia’s largest urban renewal precinct. Lucas has also run his own office where he gained substantial experience providing effective planning and urban design advice for projects ranging from development of single dwellings to medium and high density mixed‐use buildings; and land use for industrial, retail, office, medical, and restaurants and bars (including liquor licenses).
