We are very excited to welcome Lucas Paterno to URPS. Based in our Melbourne office, Lucas’ focus is on statutory planning, approvals facilitation, and urban design services to private and public sectors.
Lucas has a background in architectural drafting and urban design, experience that proved invaluable in his role overseeing the development approvals for the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area (FBURA) – Australia’s largest urban renewal precinct. He understands that good urban planning facilitates good urban design that responds to its physical and regulatory context, as well as owner ambitions.
One of Lucas’ strongest assets is planning with foresight to capture opportunity that is often overlooked. He also knows that the careful management and integration of design interfaces is critical to delivering projects on time and on budget.
In previously managing his own planning practice, Lucas provided effective planning and urban design advice for projects as diverse as single dwellings to medium and high density mixed-use buildings, as well as industrial, retail, office, medical, restaurants and bars (including liquor licenses).
Being part of a larger consultancy such as URPS means that he has support so he can focus on what he does best – handling complex projects and delivering no-nonsense, smart and client-focussed advice that streamlines the planning approval process.
