Simon Channon has been promoted to Senior Associate at URPS and will lead the organisation’s Development Facilitation and Assessment team.
Simon joined URPS in 2013 as a planner when URPS merged with Nolan Rumsby Planners. He was promoted to the position of Associate in 2015.
Simon’s latest elevation is well deserved and recognises his consistent performance over many years. Clients have come to enjoy Simon’s accurate advice, and respectful yet determined manner.
Simon brings substantial knowledge, skill and experience to the development assessment and facilitation area of URPS. He is also involved in strategic and policy planning and understands that good policy is necessary to facilitate development efficiently.
Some career highlights in development facilitation include:
- a range of renewable energy projects including wind farms, solar farms and waste-to-resource facilities
- educational projects for Concordia College, Pembroke School, Westminster School, University of South Australia and Flinders University
- retirement living projects for Living Choice Australia, ECH and Anglicare, and
- farming and processing facilities for Costa Mushrooms, Ingham’s, Perfection Fresh and Macro Meats.
