Edoardo is an eclectic social geographer with a strong background in qualitative research, participatory approaches and innovative thinking in social research and the human services.
He is passionate about making communities more liveable and socially inclusive. Edoardo believes that social innovation and capacity-building are critical to achieve this.
Having worked across a number of industries, Edoardo is very experienced operating across-disciplines and cultures. He has over ten years’ experience in social exclusion, isolation and participation, youth development, ageing and social development through sport.
As a social scientist, Edoardo is able to make sense of complex information, identifying key strengths
and weakness of strategic approaches, connecting evidence with practice and proposing alternative solutions. He also has refined skills in project and data management, program design and planning, community development and community engagement.
Edoardo was also a very successful high-performance sport coach for over fifteen years – evidence of his ability to relate to people and develop trust.
As part of his academic background, Edoardo has an extensive record of high-quality publications and conference presentations in human geography, health, leisure, and social issues of sport and recreation. He also holds an adjunct academic position at the University of South Australia and his work has received prestigious academic and professional awards.
