Information – The Oxygen of the Modern Age

People looking at a way-finding information sing in Rundle Mall, Adelaide

URPS works hard to ensure that people can breathe easy with information about things that directly impact them.

The Gawler Place Upgrade is a great example of how information has become vital to the success of a project so that key stakeholders know what is going on when.

The City of Adelaide is undertaking significant improvements to one of the busiest streets in the heart of the City.  Around 25,000 people move between North Terrace and Grenfell Street via Gawler Place every day.

The upgrade works balance construction with keeping the street functioning as a place where people shop, do business, walk, cycle and make deliveries/pickups.  Achieving this balance in such a constrained environment requires lots of planning and good communication.

URPS is helping to ensure that the traders, businesses and building owners are kept up to date about the construction activities happening on their doorstep.  Our stakeholder and community engagement team is working hard to maintain regular and consistent communication with over 500 individuals in Gawler Place as well as the wider community.

We develop and distribute easy to understand information.  We work one-on-one with stakeholders to negotiate and communicate road/laneway closures and access restrictions to car parking and buildings.  We receive and manage all questions and complaints.  Importantly, we are the conduit between the construction team, Council and the community.

The successful flow of information is helping to breathe more life into making Adelaide a vibrant and liveable city.
