A Step Closer to Achieving the Vision for Glenside

Award winning Cedar Woods is helping to realise more of Glenside’s unique potential.  The latest cause for celebration is the recent State Planning Commission’s approval of 62 two storey dwellings and associated open space and water sensitive urban design landscaped areas.

In 2015, Cedar Woods was selected by the State Government to develop the 16.5 ha Glenside site. The first step was for Cedar Woods and Renewal SA to create a vision and Master Plan that would see a minimum of 1,005 dwellings (townhouses and apartments), re-use of State Heritage Places, 3.2 ha of public open space and a regional stormwater detention basin all within walking distance of the Adelaide CBD and high quality neighbouring facilities, such as Frewville shopping centre.

Cedar Woods has already developed a significant portion of the site which has proven to be very popular.  We expect the development of a further 62 dwellings cleverly designed by Studio Nine Architects to be equally successful.

URPS has a long association with Glenside having facilitated the redevelopment of Glenside Hospital, the South Australian Film Corporate/Adelaide Studios and now the latest of Cedar Woods’ residential developments. These developments are realising a long term vision to capitalise on the central location, a mix of interesting urban land uses and the unique heritage assets of the site.
