Angela Hazebroek has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal as part of the Queen’s birthday honours.
We listed some of the highlights of Angela’s career in a previous article about her elevation to Life Fellow of the Planning Institute late last year, so we won’t go over them again.
But forgive us if we indulge a little given this most recent honour bestowed upon Angela.
Having come from other professions, Angela found her calling as a planner.
‘Having passion for what you do’ has almost become a cliché in the workplace. Not for Angela. She loves the planning work she does, particularly in the areas of social planning, community engagement and planning for ageing. She is also very focused on projects that have ecological integrity and support social and economic justice. Angela highly values her work with rural and regional communities.
Angela is indeed extraordinary – we feel very proud to work with her and the Queen’s birthday honour is yet another well-deserved accolade.
